In a short while, the holiday season will arrive: decking the halls with bows of holly, putting the milk and cookies out for Santa, freshening up Rudolph's red nose, and all those merry-time activities.
But the holiday season is also an excellent time to plan your marketing campaign because both sellers and customers are extra active. So as a creator, you should start planning your holiday marketing campaign right about... now!
Here are five tips on holiday marketing campaign planning.
#1 Jot down and decide on the goals.
It's easy to get lost in wide-range and general goals, like "expand reach" or "increase sales," but be more specific. In other words, make them SMART - specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. For example, "Gain 100 new followers who are interested in my annual holiday sale by December 28, 2021."
#2 Define the target audience.
To create sufficient and successful content, you will need to understand whom you're trying to reach and do deep research. Understand where your audience often "hangs out," what time they're most active and engaged, and what's the best way to engage with them.
#3 Have a promo plan.
Whatever you initiate needs to get out and about into the open. The news won't spread itself, so decide what your promotional plan will focus on - will it be email marketing, social media announcements, paid ads (PPC, pay-per-click), etc. Whatever it is, be sure that it highlights the critical points in your campaign and is attractive enough to get you closer to reaching your goals.
#4 Take it live!
But before throwing it out into the open, do a "soft" launch. Ask a friend or two to look through some of the content and the steps you have created: maybe they will have good observations and insights to share to help make things even better!
#5 And finally, remember to schedule ahead.
Having a schedule is a no-brainer but should be prioritized, especially during the frantic holiday season, during which you will have lots of shopping and other fun engagements to do. As long as you want to not miss out on the fun, make sure to have a bulletproof schedule mapped out and in action so you can do your thing with a peaceful mind.
Invest in creating a killer holiday marketing campaign, as the holiday season is an absolute knock-out and busy time of the year, especially for e-commerce and creators!
