4 Not-So-Average Ways Content Creators can Make More Money

Content creation is not as easy as it might sound, and content creators can testify to this. It takes high levels of discipline, organizing, and creativity. It also poses many challenges, and if your heart and mind are not in it, it might be a bit more difficult to navigate through. With the new reality created by the 2020 pandemic and its consequent lockdowns, every aspect of life changes, including that of content creators.

 

Here are 4 not-so-average ways content creators can make more money.

 

Offering exclusive content

 

People are drawn to exclusivity, and this trait can be used to your benefit as a great marketing tactic. Create membership systems or simply subscriptions to offer content exclusively available to certain people. This can also create some stability as it will allow you to create content for your target audiences.

 

Consulting services

 

If you are an expert at something but don't especially admire the idea of online teaching, you can resort to one-on-one consulting sessions. In this case, your fee will be hourly, so you will be in charge of setting the amount (but don't forget to do market research). It will also make things more flexible and give you some space to breathe and pass on your expertise.

 

Affiliate marketing

 

This is essentially product promotion but with a commission. To join affiliate programs, you will have to be reputable and have a decent number of followers. Many trusted content creators opt to review and recommend the products that they actually have used.

 

Repurposing content

 

This is a great way to work with the content you have already created and taken and like. If you've published a text, say a blog post or an article, you can use it to create a YouTube video on the same topic, or post engaging reels on Instagram or videos on TikTok, simultaneously enhancing your engagement and visibility. Don't forget about video monetization!

 

Whatever strategy you adopt to market yourself and the services you offer, always prioritize quality over quantity. Be creative in the ways you put your skills and talent to use, and quality content will bring the numbers - both follower and finance-wise!
